USA 26 June: Leavenworth, WA - Coulee City, WA

It is great to meet people like Erika who joined us for the start of the day's run.

Sukajata starts off the day.

Cashmere Mayor Jeff Gomes greeted the runners at the Anjou Bakery. Cashmere is renown for its Anjou pears. Mayor Gomes explained that the town received its name from an early settler who found a striking resemblance between Cashmere, India and this lovely town.

Vicki from the Anjou Bakery made sure we left with goodies including most excellent cinnamon rolls, cookies and loaves of bread.

Natabara takes the first leg out of Cashmere.

Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kuntz proclaimed the day World Harmony Run Day...

then presented the runners with plenty of water and locally grown treats.

Thanks to Run Wenatchee runners, the torch left Wenatchee in style and with enthusiasm.

Off to the rainy wheat fields we go!

Katya's run is reminiscent of the Tour de France.

A warm welcome from Mayor Richard Heiberg and his staff and friends awaited us with homemade banana bread and great stories about Coulee City.

We finally made it to the Grand Coulee Dam...

to end a great day of running.

Thank you once again to the Sky Deck Motel for taking great care of the men's team. We had a wonderful experiene right on the quiet and scenic Lake Coulee.

Thank you so much Coulee House Inn and Suites for putting such a charm roof over the women's team.
