USA 22 June: Florence, OR - Lincoln City, OR

We started this morning by going to the beach and swimming with the torch.

During our swim,we met a few people and they put their wishes for peace and harmony into the torch.

Then we went to a ceremony...

...where we met the Newport Oregon Youth Program Coordinator, Liam Hughes all with 20 wonderful children of various ages.

They welcomed us with a really nice handmade poster and lots of high 5s.

We were also blessed with the opportunity to drive with them in their special train and to speak with them about harmony.

We were delighted to have our Oregon and Washington Coordinators, Jamini and Pipasa, join us for the day and run a few miles with us.

The day seemed much shorter after meeting this gentleman.

Finally we came back to our home - the road - and we were delghted to be in Oregon, because it seemed that 14 cars per minute were waving or honking at us to cheer us on.

This gave us so much joy and strength for the run.

After all the inspiring running, we got some really yummy pizza in Lincoln City at Gallucci's Pizza (voted best on the beach!). We refilled our fuel tanks to chill out by the beach and to enjoy the peaceful countryside of Oregon.

Very special thanks to the comfortable 'D' Sands Condominium Motel...

...and the gracious Lincoln City Inn.  The majority of the team was able to stay right on the beach and continue to enjoy the wonderful Oregon coast.

Two of us were lucky enough to go camp in the extremely peaceful Coyote Rock RV Resort. We look forward to coming back next time around. The staff at each of these accommodations were extremely gracious. We were overwhelmed by their generosity.
