USA 27 April: Winston-Salem, NC - Charlotte, NC

What an exciting and fulfilling day we had in North Carolina today!

We started off with a wonderful visit to the Clemmons Montessori School.

As our team of runners ran in, the children were singing their own peace song while some teachers played their guitars.

It was so nice to be surrounded with so many beaming and happy faces.

Every runner felt privileged to be sharing the spirit of the Run with so many young aspiring runners!

Moreover, everybody enjoyed the sweet, tangible feeling of peace and loving oneness that permeated the meeting.

To see us off the students and teachers released some butterflies that they had cultivated. They were quite beautiful and up-lifting.

Thanks to Marsha for arranging our visit in such a dedicated and inspiring manner!

Runners went on to cover their respective distances all the way down to Charlotte, near the South Carolina state line.

It was amazing to feel the warmth of the people over here as passer-bys would clap and drivers stop to talk with us.

"When I saw you runnin' by, I thought there must be somethin' going on here. Now have a safe trip y'all!"

So said James, a local resident who was delighted to learn that a run for global harmony was passing through is very own neighbourhood.

And so the run continued, accumulating miles. Some team members ran up to a half-marathon today. Soft, dispersed droplets of rain blessed our efforts.

It was perfect weather conditions all the way, even to the last moment.

At Franklin Gas Station and Grocery Store we met quite a few local people who were very interested in our RV.

There was the local cowboy, Jack Dillon who rode up to the gas station on his horse named Rain (a rather apt name as it began to rain). We met a couple and their daughter who were eager to know about the run and it seemed we also drew the attention of the local sheriff who stopped by and we invited him into the RV to have a chat.

And when we finally reached our destination and headed for the hotel, the southern sky poured down its torrential rain!
