USA 14 August: Milville, RI - New Haven, CT

Our morning began in Preston City, CT as we ran the torch into the YMCA to be greeted by over 100 children and counsellors.

Our great friend Arpan finally got the torch back in his hands as he introduced the run to the YMCA.

As usual the children excitedly participated in our presentation.

Our long time supporter, Bill Champagne, was honored with the Torch Bearer's Award for his outstanding citizenship and his self-giving to the run and runners.

Then the real fun began as the students took the torch to the nearby soccer field for a run of the their own.

Their participation was very uplifting!

Soon after leaving the YMCA we were joined by Tim, Paul and Paul's son(whose name escapes me)

They ran for several miles on our way into Norwich. Thanks Tim for reuniting us.

After a nice lunch provided by the local church we made our way next door to another YMCA where we met these little ones.

Though very young, they made a fine audiance for our harmonious antics!

Our final visit of the day was to Montessori Discovery School. A wonderful school located on a farm in Norwich, CT.

It was a very international school, which suited our team very nicely. The children really enjoyed meeting the runners from around the world.

And of course they loved running around the yard with the torch.

As we brought the torch into New Haven, CT, Atulya got the bonus family visit. His cousin Alana, her husband Tom and their friend Max all came out to meet him at the commons.

Alana even got to run with the torch!

Finally in the evening, we were very nicely hosted by Arpan's family. The boys stayed with Mom and...

the girls stayed with our good friend Archee. It is always a pleasure to be so warmly welcomed.
