USA 23 June: Napavine, WA - Seattle, WA

The executive director, Salil Wilson and team captain, Yuyudhan Hoppe are hard at work on all the logistics behind the scenes of the run. Yuyudhan had a very challenging and exciting schedule to plan for today.

Our first visit was in Centralia, at the Borst Tennis Courts where we had a small window to give our presentation to some very enthusiastic children.

Thank you to Julie Liseth(not pictured above) of Centralia Parks and Recreation for arranging this nice meeting.

Next we found our way to the Tumwater Boys and Girls Club where we met with almost 300 children.

The Boys and Girls Clubs provide an incredible atmosphere for children and young adults to learn and grow into outstanding citizens of the world.(See more images)

We always enjoy our visits!

Rabinath makes some news friends along his route.

He soulfully offered his miles on his last "full" running day! He has been a tremendous asset to the team. We will miss his miles and council.

Our last ceremony of the day was at South Puget Sound Boys and Girls Club in Tacoma, WA.

The children were very excited about the torch. They were quite eager to be on the move and filled with energy as we gave our presentation.

However, once the torch was passed, a magical thing took place right in front of our eyes. The same children that were perhaps a little "overly energetic", settled into this deeply soulful offering as they held the torch.

Each one held the torch for 30 seconds or more with their eyes closed and their hearts open.(See more images)

The children love receiving our game cards, which offer them five different ideas for discovering harmony within themselves.

Our good friend Samarthan joined us from Tumwater to Tacoma today. He very enthusiastically offered 13.1 miles, a half marathon!

On Dhavala's run she met Girardo. He was diligently mowing one of he clients lawns when he saw her with the torch. He immediately turned off the mower, and said "I can help you!"

He then jumped right in and ran over a half mile! in full work gear! Thank you for your inspiration Girardo.

Finally, we would like to offer a very special - although very belated - thank you to Sri, Krishna and Karthik for hosting the women's team in Portland. The ladies all raved about their stay and very enthusiastically shared some of their homemade indian breakfast with me. Delicious!
