New Zealand 10 October: Scott Dixon

Scott_Dixon

Today we had the opportunity to meet New Zealand racing car driver Scott Dixon at an autograph signing session. This year he became the first Kiwi to win one of motor sport's most famous races, the Indy 500 in Indianapolis USA. The race is almost 100 years old, having been first run in 1911 at its present location of a former brickyard. Scott also won the overall Indy Racing League series for the second time, notching up 6 wins in 2008.

When we told him about the World Harmony Run he was most impressed and did not hesitate to hold the Torch and have his photo taken. He is very down to earth, a great guy with a lot of enthusiasm, and he agreed that the Run would have been much quicker in one of his cars!
