New Zealand 20 June: Pir Zia Inayat-Khan

Sufi Master Pir Zia

World Harmony Run organisers in New Zealand were privileged to meet the Sufi master Pir Zia Inayat-Khan and his family in Auckland recently. The leader of the Sufi order International and successor to an illustrious lineage of spiritual leaders, Pir Zia graciously held a private meeting with us at a function centre in South Auckland’s Bombay Hills – here he discussed with us the close friendship he and his late father, Pir Vilayat Khan, had with the World Harmony Run founder Sri Chinmoy. Pir Zia held the World Harmony Run torch for several minutes and offered a beautiful Sufi prayer for world peace and oneness. It was a special moment and a special benediction as the start of the New Zealand leg looms closer. Our gratitude to Pir Zia, his family and wonderful community for their heartfelt welcome, warm hospitality and friendship.
