New Zealand 5 June: Christchurch

Today was an extensive day of running the perimeter of rural Christchurch, up the scenic landscapes of Banks Peninsular to the glorious panoramic views of the scenic skyline. We were gifted with the great stretching sights of the Southern Alps basking in the sun.

Part of the World Harmony Run Team in Christchurch

Taking advantage of the public holiday we indulged in the local trails and scaled the peaks of Mt Herbert. An amazing run – the trails up at altitude were coloured by a blanket of white snow that made for an exquisite variation in our running terrain.

After a steep and gruelling ascent we were happy to find before us a long slow gradient traversing Mt Bradley and meandering it's way back down the mountain - more snow, an abundance of farmland and an invigorating ice cold mountain stream met us at the base.
