England 10 March: Leeds - Sheffield

One of our runners' running shoes, put to good use while he waits for his injury to heal!

Many thanks to the "Thorpe Park Hotel" in Leeds for supporting the World Harmony Run.

We started the day with a run through Leeds, to a meeting with Matt from Leeds University.

This is their new facility - the builders were just finishing it off.

On time for our next meeting...

...with the Lord Mayor of Leeds who was very supportive and enthusiastic about the Run.

She enjoyed meeting our team from so many different countries around the world.

The serious side of Leeds!...

...talking to the children of Rosebank Primary School...

...and the next one: St. Peter's Primary School!

Taking turns to run around the playground with the torch...

...all members of the world harmony team.

Half of our team then ran from Leeds to Sheffield.

Enyi takes up the torch for Guatemala.

The other half of the team went ahead to cover some distance to the south of Sheffield; the countryside was really picturesque.

Just had to take some more photos...

Taking a break from Iceland to enjoy the English countryside. Well, she looks happy!

A flock of sheep - or sheeps, as some of our team would say. (Who am I to talk - I only speak one language.)

Once in Sheffield, we were invited to Ponds Forge swimming pool. We were very impressed with all the top-end facilities there.

The pool was crowded with young swimmers doing drills.

...and we were pretty impressed with some of the divers too...

The 10m high board was, um, very high! Most of us could hardly dare to even look over the edge, let alone jump off it.

This lot are all much braver than us - they've all dived for Britain at international level.

– Kokila
