England 9 May: Ledbury - Chepstow

This morning we had to backtrack a little, so one team started running just outside of Ledbury while the second team began just outside of Ross-on-Wye.

The countryside in this part of the borders is so lush right now, very green and, with the weather so warm, it feels like paradise.

Very old buildings in Ross-on-Wye.

Balavan contemplates his next tattoo.

Balavan was the Torch bearer as we passed through Ross-on-Wye.

Ieva stretching it out across a bridge.

Shortly afterwards, a group of us ran along a public path alongside the river Wye - a disused railway line, now used by walkers and cyclists.

Upstream from the rapids outside Monmouth.

The route skirted Monmouth town centre and headed down the Wye Valley toward Tintern and Chepstow, where the day's running would end near the Severn Bridge.

On the way, Abichal's Mum, Susan caught up with Harmony Run and held the Torch at Whitebrook Bridge, several miles southeast of Monmouth.

The temple of Peace in Cardiff.

A brief ceremony had been arranged with Stephen Thomas, Director of International Affairs at the Temple of Peace. Also present was the Secretary to the Director, Tamara Gervasoni.

Our accommodation was in Cardiff that night and we are very grateful to our friends, especially Roger and Fran, and Charana and Prabhabati, for taking such good care of the World Harmony Runners.
