Estonia 30 July: Kuressaare - Haapsalu
We started in the morning at the city border of Kuressaare. Kuressaare is the largest city on Saaremaa, one of Estonias's most beautiful islands.
A governmental representative and some local runners welcomed us and together we run to the Sport Centre of Kuressaare, where the city sport representative received us and showed us the impressing sport centre.
After Kuressaare we crossed the island and reached the harbor of Triigi.
We passed old traditional wind mills and enjoyed the fragrance of blossoming fields.
We took a boat to Hiiumaa, where in the port of Soru the representative of the community counsil with some runners welcomed us despite the rain which started by then.
Shobhini, our Estonian coordinator...
In Kaina we met community representative and nice people who improvised a meeting on the road. Because of the rain many people stayed at home, but still those who came out where extremely nice. They served us drinks and snacks from the trunk of their car
A nice way to spend a picknick in the green: we got already used to campfires...
Another small meeting happened in Suuremoisa. A small, but hearty reception. The community representative and some kids waited in the rain and joined the run a few hundred metres.
As we reached the harbor of Heltermaa, another surprise meeting took place. The representative of the region received us and after giving us nice gifts even sponsored our boat tickets to Haapsalu.
We reached the harbor of Haapsalu quite late, as there was only one boat from Saaremaa on daytime and we were tight to the boat schedule in Hiiumaa.
As we reached Haapsalu, the city representative met us and took the torch for quite a distance. Finally we reached our accommodation and a long, but great day ended...
