Canada 2 October: Medicine Hat - Fort Macleod
TEAM A
Today we were very lucky to enjoy a beautiful hot, sunny day. We made our way to Lethbridge and met with the students of Westminster Elementary School and presented them with a ceremony.
Lethbridge City Councillor Jeff Carlson attended, showing much enthusiasm and support for the run.
The counselor of the school, Jeff Wiebe, also very eager to support the message of the run.
After the ceremony, which was held in the gym, everybody gathered outside to hold the torch. As usual, the children very much enjoyed passing it around.
The team then headed to our second event at Coalhurst Elementary School. The children were very interested and attentive to our presentation. We played a few games, and passed the torch to Principal Dave Fender, who then passed it on to a teacher.
We gathered outside to pass the torch.
Principal Dave Fender led the kids for a run around the field with the torch.
After the children returned to their classrooms, Sevati and Amy could not help but enjoy a fun and exciting game of teatherball!
We then met with John Mitchell, the President of the Community Association in the town of Monarch. We shared our song and message, presented him with a certificate of appreciation and World Harmony Run shirt.
We then ran 49km to the town of Fort Macleod. On our way, Prapti’s mother and brother joined us. They ran with the torch. We were happy to meet them.
We came saw a salt lake, and of course had to run across it!

TEAM B
Abichal "will run for free wireless" at breakfast.
Our hearts gratitude to the Days Inn for their kindness, genrosity and hospitality. Without such self-giving the World Harmony Run would be a very different experience.
Blazej climbs the hill to the next school.
Alexandra Middle School in Medicine Hat was waiting excitedly for the team to arrive.
Kelly Mortlock who helped organise the event with a certificate of the Harmony Run's gratitude.
The students asked some poignant questions whilst the torch was being passed around, questions about harmony and about the run which the runners were happy to answer.
Alderman Graham Kelly receives a certificate of Appreciation
Just outside of Bow Island we were scheduled to meet Darla Stensrud who wanted to run a few kms into town with the torch.

Local runners join the team with Karen Klassen (carrying the torch) who played a big role in organising the run to the the community centre in Taber.
where Greg presents the Deputy Mayor, Terry Sargent, with a certificate of Appreciation.
Just before this group shot, everyone gathered formed a circle and passed the torch around. Part of Medur's presentation mentions that the circle is a symbol of the world and when we pass the torch around the circle we are symbolically passing the torch around the world but the torch is actually being passed around the world. In four days the European leg reaches its conclusion in the Czech Republic.
Enthusiastic support from Taber, young and old.
Determination shows on the faces of Steve Meggison and Howard Kehler, our police escort whilst running through the town.
A happy Wilf who somehow doesn't seem to make it into many photos... we have to get him out with a torch more often.
Other inhabitants of this planet along the World Harmony Run route.
R.I.Baker Middle School was our next stop in Coaldale, Alberta.
Pictured above is Anya, town councillor from Coaldale who came to the school to greet us and welcome us to her community. [sorry about the missing last name - medur]
Pam Ross is the cross-country coach and provided the harmony runners with the opportunity to visit the school.
The students got totally into the spirit of the Harmony Run by forming an archway for the school runners to pass through.
The cross-country team filled with seemingly boundless energy sprinted with the torch to the next school,
From one school to another
Jennie Emery Elementary School, where heartfelt sweetness prevailed.

Members of the school cross-country team joined with their teacher and ran out with us to the edge of town before waving good-bye.
These ladies were keen
and ran, as their after-school activity, with the team out to the edge of town. Our gratitude goes out to them.
