Australia May 26: Melbourne
Cold and foggy conditions descended upon Melbourne overnight as the team grabbed some well earned rest and prepared for another inspiring day of school visits. Our morning began with a small technical issue when we realised that we had misplaced our torch fuel. However, this was soon rectified and we were once again out on the road heading to our first meeting of the day at Spotswood Primary School.
Greeted by a sea of eager faces in a cozy quadrangle we presented our simple message of harmony and oneness. As always, the children were most eager to hold the torch that has passed through so many hands in its worldwide journey. The sincerity in each childs face as they looked in to the dancing flame was most noticeable.
Our second visit of the day was only a short distance away at Hobson's Bay Primary School. The staff and students enthusiastically welcomed us back with fond memories of last years visit. We were surprised and delighted when our humble rendition of the World Harmony Run song grew to a thunderous crescendo as all the students joined in. The excitement continued as the entire school joined us for a lap of the oval and refreshments in the school staffroom.
A big thanks to everybody we met today!
