USA 4 August: Buffalo, NY - Egypt, NY
Today starts like any other day, running... Laci leads the way...
to meet with the keepers of the International Peace Garden in Batavia, NY.
We are excited to greet a Torch Bearer Award recipient.
The Peace Garden is a valuable reminder of the beauty and power of nature.
Kind words from the Mayors office...
August 4th is proclaimed World Harmony Run Day in Batavia. Salil graciously accepts the honors on behalf of the team.
The Peace Garden leads a trail across New York State.
Batavian's rally around the banner just before the runners prepare to set off again.
We are pleased and honored to hold the torch under the flags of nations adjoining the Peace Garden.
In the words of our new friends from Batavia, we carry their message with us.
The next stop is the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester. We are greeted with enthusiasm by a group of young people who want to know about the Run.
They all brought their own 'Harmony Run' torches to the event.
Everyone had a great time.
The kids learn the World Harmony Run song and are happy to sing along and raise their torches
Many hopes and wishes for peace and harmony are made today.
Each prayer is as thoughtful as the first one.
Then the kids go for a run with the torch.
Deputy Mayor Leonard E. Redin greeted the runners and the youth of the Boys and Girls Club and offered a proclamation from the City of Rochester
Friends in harmony.
The runners are invited in to the clubhouse to play games and...
eat ice cream! Meanwhile, the rest of the team keeps running...
