USA 19 September: Lake Mary
The Lake Mary Historical Museum in Lake Mary, Florida hosted the World Harmony Run Children's Art Exhibit, which is traveling to 13 countries around the world. this year. The exhibition took place from Thursday, September 17th through Saturday, September 19th, 2009.
Children around the world who have participated in this exhibition were inspired by the World Harmony Run, when the it visited their school in their countries. Last March 2009, the World Harmony Run visited schools in Seminole County.
Heathrow Elementary School and Markham Woods Middle school participated in our International Drawing Contest. The children's artwork chosen from these schools are representing the USA in this traveling exhibition.
We also had the honor to display art work from the founder of the World Harmony Run, Sri Chinmoy, an artist himself.
Here are some of his paintings, which he refered to as: “Jharna-Kala” meaning fountain art.
During our exhibition at the Lake Mary Historical Museum, we had the honor of having the special visit from the President of the Lake Mary Historical Society who along with her husband, came to see the exhibit. Thank you both so much helping making this event possible.

We also had special visitors from the Boys and Girls Scouts who stopped by to see the exhibit, as well as art teachers and the general public. I would like to thank the parents for bringing their children to this exhibit.
Moreover, I would like to thank Mary, Museum Program Director, and Miss Pat Blake for allowing me to explain to the children about the World Harmony Run, to pass the Torch to children and parents and for allowing me to show the World Harmony Run video before they began their program “Dragon Storytellling” with every group of children that visited during the day.
All my gratitude to Mrs. Cora Rice, President of The Lake Mary Historical Society, Mr. Allan Plank, Historical Commision Chairman, and Mr. John C. Litton, Lake Mary City Manager for all their help and support for the World Harmony Run, who made this project possible in the City of Lake Mary.
