USA 2 May: Mossy Head, FL - Alabama State Line, AL
Another unbelievable burst of student enthusiasm greeted the team as we ran into Southside Elementary in Crestview, Florida.
Four hundred kids armed with smiles, cheers, and artwork on peace stretch out their hands to slap Dmitry five.
Children always love to learn about the fun adventures of the runners. This little girl guessed correctly that Jitavrata was from the United States.
Southside Elementary was both enthusiastically joyful, and extremely attentive. A wonderful combination for the future of our country.
Mayor David Cadle came out to welcome the run and participate by leading the teachers in a jog around the playground. He was very kind and gracious to us all.
Holding the torch brings forth the inner and outer smile of everyone.
Nothing feels better than knowing that you ROCK!
LaVonne Haven of Camp Fire USA helps us organize an event in Pensacola, Florida every year. Volunteers around the country are the key to making the Run a success.
Harmony in action, harmony in silence.
The music of Peace 101, with Ric Kindle on guitar and Patrick on flute, blessed the ceremony with their music and positive vibe, bringing smiles to both the runners and the children. They truly took the ceremony to another level, and we were very grateful for their presence. Ric is the organizer and director of the annual Greater Good Music and Arts Festival in Pensacola.
Running into bustling cities and through still meadows, America the Beautiful, smiles upon us, and within us.
