USA 12 May: St. Louis, MO To Linn, MO

After preparing lunch for everybody we left the beautiful place of `The Lady of the Snows` in Saint Louis where we stayed for two nights. As we arrived at the Beaufort elementary school the kids were outside. It was their field-day today. All of them were either running or jumping in potato sacks or playing all different kinds of games. They seemed to be very busy!! Like little bees buzzing here and there and everywhere.

After meeting the principle, Mr. Aaron Wills, and setting up the loudspeaker, most of them gathered around us to listen what we would say. We, being runners from around the world with different languages, seemed to give them a lot of joy.

After our presentation and after singing with them our World Harmony Run theme song, Arpan yelled out, “The train is leaving!” With the sound of his harmonica imitating a train and its whistle, some of the children joined us to run to the entrance of the school. Waving good bye and sending sweet smiles with Arpan to take back on the road gave him perhaps more energy than the `delicious` food that we cooked for everyone this morning.

No thunderstorm or rain this morning, but a strong headwind was our closest companion and competitor today. But we also had the beauty of nature which came to us with a lot of different deep green colors and sweet silence which helped us to challenge the strong headwinds.

In the evening we settled into the Jefferson City Super 8 Motel where we were kindly greeted by the staff and offered four rooms for the night.

Earlier, two of the guys on the men’s team, who have been trying to get a haircut for some time now, went to get a haircut when they arrived in Jefferson City. Melinda Peak, hair designer and owner of ‘Wavelengths’ the only haircutting place available, was very kind in taking them in without an appointment and even offered both haircuts for free. She did a fantastic job, as they never looked better. Melinda is also a gospel singer in a group called ‘The Musical Inspirations’ and was happy to hear about our efforts to spread harmony with our running as they do with their singing.
