Switzerland 14 May: Constance - Altstatten

On our way from Kreuzlingen to Rorschach along the “Bodensee,” Hans Schindler (right) accompanied us on the inlines. Hans, a former 10k-runner who now coaches kids, is a teacher in Uttwil. His family supported the World Harmony Run from the start in Switzerland.

In Rorschach the route climbed very quickly. Here you see Amalendu, our international runner from Australia, who did all the work on the first hill with its 18% raise. In the background is Rorschach and Bodensee.

Amalendu continued running near Heiden and was joined by runners from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, led by Dipavajan Renner, the organiser of the European leg of the World Harmony Run.

At Heiden the torch was carried by Olivier Bernhard, one of the world’s greatest triathletes. He has not only won the Ironman Switzerland five times, but he is also a three-time World Champion in duathlon.

Stretched out and running at a good pace towards the “Pestalozzi-village” in Trogen. Narmada Heer, who organised the event there, carries the Swiss flag, while her brother carries the torch in front of Pranam Horlbeck, the Swiss coordinator.

Children from Bulgaria and Ukraine carry the World Harmony Torch to the Pestalozzi village.

To spread harmony and friendship among people, while bringing countries together, is the message of the World Harmony Run. The Pestalozzi village is doing exactly the same, says their leader, by connecting different cultures. Are they not sweet these two “brothers”?
