Russia 4 June: Kaliningrad - Mamonovo

A good start in Kaliningrad: we went to three schools:

..happy faces in the morning make a huge difference...

...you can feel peace in your heart...

..I am a world citizen...

Thanks for the great welcome!

..and straight ito the second school!

...the girls perfromed nicely for us..

...we attached messages in our own languages...

...the kids performed a nice play...

...and sang well, too....

...the children created little peace doves...

A perfect World Harmony Run welcome!

...and kids number three: we met the children in a small park, were we officially started the running of the day...

..the kids were sprinters: a welcome challenge in the morning...

Thank you Kaliningrad! We will be back as soon as possible...

...we ran out of the city and reached Ushakovo...

..the children party continued: the kids were assembled in a holiday camp and gave us a hearty welcome...

...from gymnastics...

..to nice scarves...

...a most dynamic run!...

..the kids prepared huge torches made from paper...

A great holiday camp! Thanks for the hospitality!

...and we reached Ladushkin on our way tothe border...

...a group of kids welcomed us and together we ran to the community memorial...

..the community representative received the torch and together we ran a few symbolic steps for harmony...

..as we reached Pjatidoroznoe, children were lined up along the main road to join the Run in a relay...

..nice drawings...

...after the presentation the community representative joined for a short run: the usual few steps turned into a real performance...

Thanks for the great enthusiasm!

...finally we arrived in Mamonovo. The short distance of 55 km kept us the whole day busy as we had so many meetings...

..first we went to a local school...

..it was really amazing that we had so many school meetings with so many children despite the fact that it was school holiday!

...together with local runners we ran into Mamonovo, where at the main square the final meeting took place...

...the mayor welcomed the runners and he received on behalf of the community the torch bearer award!

...A great ending for a great time we spent in Russia. We made so many new friends and enjoyed the famous Russian hospitality to the extreme.

A big hand to all our runners, coordinators and to the big heart of Russia!
