Malaysia, 6 February: Sungai Petani

We left Singapore yesterday evening and travelled through the night. When we arrived in Sungai Petani after an 18-hour trip, our new friend Mr. Krishnamurthy Rao picked us up and brought us to a local school.

Because of the Chinese New Year many schools were closed and we were happy to visit even one school, and this one was definitely worth the extra effort.

The kids, mainly Tamil, conquered us right away with their broad smiles!

We explained about the World Harmony Run and then, after forming a big circle in the school yard, all the children passed the torch from one to another!

The teachers started with a short symbolic run for harmony in the school and finally all the kids joined in!

The kids didn't want to let us go away so easily... we had to give countless autographs and take many pictures of them holding the torch...

The event at this one school happened to be the only World Harmony Run event in Malaysia, as our international team had to travel on to Thailand, but the cheerfulness and the smiling faces really won our hearts!

Thank you, Malaysia!
