Canada 11 September: Sherbrook, PQ - St. Hyacinthe, PQ
Team A
In the thick morning fog, among the trees and under the moon, we could feel all the peace and harmony of the world.
We said reluctant goodbyes and offered our sincere gratitude to our gracious hosts Mr. And Mrs. Dupuis.
Our first ceremony was a meeting with two councillors of the city of Sherbrooke. Mr. Louida Brochu read a heartfelt message. He was moved by founder Sri Chinmoy and offered his encouragement and best wishes. Our meeting was filmed by the journalist Francois Gagnon of Radio-Canada, who also held the torch.
Later we had a quick stop in this beautiful little town, where the mayor, Mr. Marc Poulin, held the torch for a moment.
Then we ran about two kilometers to reach the Princess Elizabeth School in Magog, where we were most impressed by the bright students, loving teachers and inspired Principal, Mrs. Eva Lettner.
We watched a beautiful DVD showing events of the World Harmony Run taking place in other countries. At the end everybody had the opportunity to hold the torch and make a wish for world harmony. Thank you for your participation!
One of the teachers from Princess Elizabeth School, who offered his encouragement for our efforts.
On our way to Montreal we stopped in front of Lake Memphremagog. No swimming today as it is getting cooler.
Prapti takes a break on a disused railway track.

Team B
Our day began in thick fog which cleared by the time we reached Waterloo.
Waterloo Elementary School Principal Gore did a lap of honor accompanied by Waterloo Councillor Paul Dufresne.
The future of Waterloo is in good hands judging by the bright eyes and happy hearts of the children attending the Waterloo school.
Eric offers high fives to all the students.
Gabriel leads the charge around the playground.
Rathin, from Australia, accompanies Eric through the green pastures of Quebec. Sadly Rathin departed today, returning to Australia.
Ecole Ave Maria in Granby gave us a rousing welcome.
Many of the students had prepared posters celebrating the spirit of the run.
Harmony begins in the heart of each individual.
Gabriel invites the students to put their hand on the person next to them and say, "You are my friend!"
This simple exercise results in lots of smiles, happiness and giggles.
Sukhdev ran the torch over to the Hotel De Ville (City Hall) of Granby.
Granby Mayor, Richard Goulet formally welcomed us to town.
We were honored to sign the visitors' book.
On the way out of town we picked up some new team members.
They were pretty slow runners, so we left them behind....
....instead Medur helped us relay the torch to St. Hyacinthe.
We stopped in at Ecole Larocque and met with the students.
Each class took turns running a lap around the playground.
A proud Canadian.
Thank you Quebec - unforgettable!
