It's great to see Australia involved in the World Harmony Run 2008 – a global expression of peace. The spirit behind this international odyssey is one we can all be proud of.

By travelling for more than 100 days across our vast country and featuring participants from around the world, the relay is a reminder that when we come together we give extra strength to the already potent power of goodwill and provide it with room to grow.

It is particularly encouraging to know that so many school children will have the opportunity to take part and learn more about the idea behind the run.

Congratulations to all those taking part in this global adventure. I wish you all the best on your journey.
